20th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Luncheon - St. Andrew Old Girls Assoc (UK Chapter)
The UK chapter of the St Andrew High School Old Girls Association celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Founded to allow St Andrew Alumnae living in Britain to meet socially and to raise funds for the school, the chapter has, over the years, sent more than £30,000 to pay for various projects (from musical instruments to laboratory and computer equipment), and, in particular, to help individual students whose family circumstances would otherwise make it difficult for them to continue in education. Current members represent well over half a century of the school's history - one left St Andrew in 1944, another in 2007 - and include doctors, nurses, academics, scientists, members of the business community and undergraduates.
The chapter invites all Old Girls, family, friends and friends of friends to the 20th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Fund-Raising Luncheon to be held on 19th September 2010.
Come enjoy great food at the Cottons Caribbean Restaurant (70 Exmouth Market, Islington, nearest tubes Farringdon & Angel) and meet our Guest of Honour, the new Jamaican High Commissioner. The event promises a lively and enjoyable afternoon with music, a Dutch Auction and much more starting at 12:30pm with a complimentary rum punch (for the adults) and buffet lunch.
Tickets (£25) can be obtained by mailing order & cheque to Angella Senior, 4 Shadwell Ring Road, Leeds, LS17 8NJ. Queries can be directed to annt65@msn.com
