Black Skin Care

Simple steps to the perfect skin care routine

Afro Caribbean skin has more oil producing sebaceous glands, helping to protect against the affects of ageing, but can still be prone to dryness. Skin is the body's largest organ, we spend millions in the UK on skin products, but keeping to a basic skin care routine can make a huge difference. Keeping black skin in prime condition, couldnt be easier, just follow these simple steps.

Make sure you know your skin type and are using products that suit.
Combination Skin type has both oily and dry areas, a greasy forehead and nose, and dry cheeks and eye area. There are products specifically formulated for this skin type, however many use dual products for different areas of the face.
Oily Skin is shinny, especially around the T-Zones. Avoid products that contain alcohol which dry the skin. To protect your skin, use a foundation that has oil absorbing properties.
Dry Skin can get flakey easily. Keep skin regularly moisturised and remember to drink plenty of water.
Normal Skin is kept at optimum health by cleansing, toning and moisturising.

5 Simple Steps to better looking skin

Cleansing: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Gently apply cleanser and in a circular motion. Rinse with cool water which will close up the pores.

Exfoliating: getting rid of the dead skin allows your skin to absorb moisturizer more readily, as well as giving you glowing skin.

Toning: Toners remove traces of oil, makeup and dirt, as well as helping to refine pores, tone and tighten skin.

Moisturising: It is essential to help skin hydrated. Washing, cleansing and toning strip the skin of moisture, so apply cream immediatley.

There are a wide range of foundations available, including tinted moisturisers, SPF, and oil free, these help to further protect skin from the sun, cold, and urban pollution.

Stay Beautiful!
