Buju Banton, one of the most popular musicians in Jamaican history, also known as, ‘The Voice of Jamaica’, touches down on Sunday 12th August 2007, at The Carling Academy Brixton, 211 Stockwell Road, London, SW9, to begin the UK leg of his World Tour.
This forthcoming concert has been keenly anticipated, since the release of Buju’s highly acclaimed
dancehall album in 2006 -
Too Bad, which already boasts hits such as: Driver, Hey Boy and Me & Oonu.
Since Buju burst onto the music scene in 1992 with his ground breaking -
Mr Mention album, he has accomplished the impossible, by breaking Bob Marley’s record of scoring the most Jamaican No.1 singles from one album. He then went on to break the mould a second time with his third album - Til Shiloh, which was an expression of his Rastafarianism through roots reggae and lovers rock.
Buju Banton will be taking us on a musical rollercoaster ride, when he performs live at The Carling Academy Brixton, on 12th August 2007. He will be supported by Ghost and New Kidz. Tickets are £30.00 and doors open at 7pm.
