Caribbean Airlines’ enhanced flight service between Port-of Spain, Trinidad and London, Gatwick Airport took effect on March 25 2007. These direct flights are part of Caribbean Airlines codeshare agreement with British Airways. On March 25, flight BW2900 left Bridgetown, Barbados for Gatwick at 4:40 pm. The service was operated on a Boeing 777 jet aircraft.

"Caribbean Airlines is delighted to partner with the prestigious world-class carrier British Airways, to service this important route. Our customers will reap several valuable benefits from this improved service, including increased consistency, competitive ticket prices, the comfort of traveling on a Boeing 777 aircraft, wider seats, more leg room and a range of entertainment facilities. Members of our frequent flyer program continue to be able to earn and redeem Caribbean Miles on their flights to London Gatwick" states Caribbean Airlines CEO Peter Davies.

A daily service between the Caribbean and London will continue with this codeshare. Flights will operate direct from Gatwick via Barbados, terminating in Port-of-Spain every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. While on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday there will be non-stop service concluding in Barbados, with a seamless connection to Port-of-Spain on Caribbean Airlines’ next generation Boeing 737. Connections to other Caribbean destinations are also available.

In addition, until May 1st, Caribbean Airlines will be operating up to 3 weekly flights to London Heathrow on its Airbus 340, giving customers a wider choice of flights to the UK during the Cricket World Cup peak season.
