Next Carnival: March - April 2009
The island of Jamaica, home to over 2 million people, the late great Bob Marley, Reggae music, Dancehall, and many of todays most celebrated artists. Since its first year in 1990, the annual carnival celebrations, transform the island into party paradise. Jamaica Carnival which was started by Byron Lee, began as a small event, is today is one of the largest annual events in Jamaica.
Carnival in Jamaica is an amazing experience with a host of different events, as well as 'Mas', Calypso, and Soca band performances and competitions, to keep the crowds jammin and wining Jamaican style.

Breadfruit Festival This festival held every year in July celebrates the arrival of breadfruit on the island. There is a parade mid afternoon, re-enactmening the first planting of the seeds.

Accompong Maroon Festival Every year on the 6th January, this festival is celebrated by the Maroons of Western Jamaica, the descendants of runaway slaves to pay tribute to Jamaicain hero, Cudjoe, Fand victory in the first Maroon War.

Blue Marlin Tournament Every October anglers from all over the world arrive in Jamaic to compete. The Port Antonio Blue Marlin Tournament is the oldest marlin tournament in the Caribbean.
