Next Carnival: 15th April 2013
The island of Jamaica, home to over 2 million people, the late great Bob Marley, reggae music, dancehall, and many of todays most celebrated artists. Since its first year in 1990, with around 1500 masqueraders, the annual carnival celebrations have transformed the island into party paradise.
Influenced by Trinidad Carnival, musician and band leader, Byron Lee (1935-2008) organised the first
Jamaica Carnival which began as a small event, and is today is one of the largest annual events in Jamaica.
Carnival in Jamaica is an amazing experience with a host of different events, as well as 'Mas', Calypso, and Soca band performances and competitions, to keep the crowds jammin and wining Jamaican style.
If you are visiting Jamaica on holiday at this time be sure to book you accommodation in advance!
