CARIBBEAN CARNIVALS
Nevis Carnival
Next Carnival: August 2012
Nevis Culturama is a carnival celebration held over five days during Emancipation Day weekend. It started in 1974, as a platform to highlight and maintain traditional local art forms. The island lights up and the party starts!
The island comes alive with a host of arts, crafts, music, drama, and calypso events, including the Emancipation Day rally, concerts, J'ouvert and a 'Mr Kool' contest for the best-looking male.
Calypso tents, beach parties, night dances and street jams, are all part of the build up to an action packed Emancipation Day weekend. There is no shortage of things to do, while soaking up the Nevis culture and hospitality.
