Centerprise is a multi-purpose community and arts centre in the heart of Dalston.

It is located near Gillett Street – the first of the Mayor of London’s 100 public spaces.
It's at the hub of a vibrant multi-cultural, multi-faith community which actively participates in our growing range of arts, cultural and social activities. We run one of East London’s oldest and most famous community bookshops. Increasingly, writers are emerging from our Literature Project with manuscripts and prizes that have are being taken on by top publishers and agents.
Founded in 1970, Centerprise has served as a model for similar centres in other countries, and the organisation continues to draw in users and participants from abroad, and all sectors of the local community.

Gearing Up with Martina Evans
A friendly and supportive 8-week course for beginners to get to grips with key elements of fiction writing. Character, plot, structure, dialogue and point of view will all be explored through writing and reading exercises in these weekly workshops. Students graduating from 'Gearing Up' can move to our next level course 'Narrative Drive'

Narrative Drive with Jacobs RossA course for those who are developing novels or short stories and want to extend technique and receive critical feedback. Jacob Ross explains and clarifies many of the problems that beset writers. He shows how to develop the strengths of the writer's voice. Narrative Drive is an opportunity to work along side other highly motivated intermediate level writers in a focused and stimulating group.
