The annual Chutney Soca Monarch competition in Trinidad, which started in 1996, has become a highlight in the Soca scene calendar of events. Past winners include Sonny Mann, Rikki Jai, Heeralal Rampartap, Rooplal Girdharrie and Ravi Bissambhar.
The Chutney Monarch 2011 at the Skinner Park in San Fernando, Trinidad, saw the fifteen finalists perform throughout the evening, as the public voted for thier favourite.

The event has an ever larger international audience and the 2011 prize money of TT$2 Million, announced at the previous general election campaign, has been the largest to date.
Congratulations go out to Rikki Jai the latest Chutney Soca Monarch Champion, reclaiming the title from Ravi B the 2010 Chutney Soca Monarch. This is his 6th win over the years, with the most popular chutney soca tune of the season 'White Oak and Water'.
