Positive Vibration Street Party 2015 – 12 hour Jamaican Street Party

Positive Vibration returns for its third installment, and this year, the 12 – hour Jamaican Street Party is taking over the Garden and Club at Constellations.

A staple in the North West event calendar, Positive Vibration will play host to a plethora of live music, DJs & Selectas, dub sound systems, dance, performance poetry, food & drink, arts & crafts workshops, face painting, a record fair, pop-up stalls and loads more.Dig out your brightest clothes, master your bogle and come join the festivities for a celebration of Jamaican music, food & culture.

Live performances
Headlining this year’s event will be ska/dub heavyweights, King Porter Stomp. With afro funk horns,
dub reggae rhythms, melodic hooks and conscious rap, King Porter Stomp fuse musical genres creating their own refreshingly unique sound.

This UK 8-piece write collectively, uniting ideas and crafting music unlike anyone else you will have heard before.
Joining King Porter Stomp will be a number of other up & coming and established reggae performers, including –Cut Capers, Bolshy, Jeramiah Ferrari, Samsara, Kayanites, Conscious Youth Sound System, Miserable Man, Komodo and Schmame Industries Sound System feat. Original Principal B and Leo Crusher.The event will also feature Liverpool-born Rastafarian and ‘Urban Griot’, Levi Tafari, who will be showcasing his unique style of Dub Poetry.

DJs & Selectas
Taking you on a musical journey from Montego Bay through to Kingston Town will be DJs & Selectas – Benny Maths, The Walrus Said, Josh Ray, Buddha, Mick Hurst and the Rebs DJs

Jamdown Market
In addition to the wonderful music & food, the event will play host to the ‘Jamdown Market’featuring: Arts & Crafts workshops and face painting for the whole family.

Pop-up stalls offering reggae-related goodies.
Record Fair selling ‘vinyl only’ reggae, ska, dub, rocksteady and calypso records – great for all you crate diggers out there.
