Open The Gate are proud to present legendary foundation Reggae artist Papa Michigan Live and direct from Jamaica on his EMPRESS BY MY SIDE TOUR!!!

As part of the groundbreaking deejay duo Michigan & Smiley, Papa Michigan stormed Reggae charts around the world! He was instrumental in kicking off the Dancehall revolution back in '78 and continued to produce classic material throughout the 80s and 90s.

Later success as a producer for such powerhouses as Luciano, Glen Washington, Tristan Palma, George Nooks and Half Pint has only fuelled his passion for live performance and recording. And now, after years of working behind the scenes, Papa Michigan has returned to the performing arena without losing a beat. In his own words: 'It takes an experienced soldier to lead an army'.

With so many fans hungry for some traditional Dancehall fun and with a raft of hugely popular solo releases under his belt such as '400 years', 'Barack Obama', 'Hustler', 'These Streets' and his current hit 'Empress By My Side' (which gives this tour it's name), who is better equipped than Papa Michigan to take command?

Support comes courtesy of a host of the UK Reggae/Dancehall scene's roughest selectors: SUPA C, KEITH LAWRENCE (Colourful Radio), LENNY RANKS (RJR) and THE TIGHTEN UP CREW featuring DADDY RANKS plus more TBC.
