Fox Carnival Band

Fox Carnival Band is unique in that the artwork is created entirely by children and young people. A large and diverse mas band, Fox do not wear costumes as such; instead the players carry individual artworks on tall poles, which move in unison high above the heads of the audience. From hundreds of extraordinary umbrellas, to lengths of decorated drain pipes, to a huge shoal of windsock fish, Fox Carnival Band's unique projects are startling, amusing and delightful when they come to life on the road.

This year Fox is drawing attention to environmental damage and the art of recycling by creating their entire mas out of plastic bags. Come and spot those familiar shopping bags in their new life as pompoms, windsocks and flags, and the huge Mr Fox wearing an outfit made entirely out of ironed-together bags. Fox's 400+ participants and their bag-covered lorry are sure to be a lively, colourful, and completely crazy show starring 7,000 shopping bags who just managed to escape landfill.
