TRAVEL CARIBBEAN

Grenada Travel   GRENADA TRAVEL
ABOUT GRENADA: Grenada lies 100 miles north of Venezuela, and is lush, green with volcanic mountains. The island is covered with fragrant nutmeg trees, the scent of exotic flowers. It is knwon as the 'spice island' due the islands nutmeg exports. This is the eco tourist's paradise with rivers and waterfalls, lush rainforests, sulphur springs and lakes. There is hiking around the island and in the mountains, (Mt. St. Catherine is 2,756 ft), as well as picture postcard white sandy beaches, excellent scuba diving, and sailing.
The famous Grande Anse Beach and Lance Aux Epines lie at the southern end of the island and are home to Grenada's fine hotels, water sports, and tourist facilities. Accommodation ranges from 5-star resorts to modestly priced small hotels, guesthouses, and private homes. The French influence is seen in the cuisine at many restaurants, as well as the Caribbean favorites.
Grenada's intense natural beauty sits along side its rich history and vibrant culture. There are numerous local festivals and Carnivals, fairs, and markets. Its centuries-old spice plantations and rum distilleries still use traditional methods. St Georges is a busy, vibrant market town, home to the picturesque Carenage harbour. There are plenty of island tours available to take you around the island, exploring historical forts and other areas of interest.
