Q For the music lovers who don’t know much about you, please tell us about De Indispensables?
We are individually known as Tick Lips and Lenny B, together we are de Indispensables.
Q It’s all in the name they say - What does De Indispensables mean or where is it derived from?
The name de indispensables is derived from our style of music, basically we do almost all genres of music from Hip-Hop & RnB to Reggae, Dance Hall, Afro Hip-Hop, Gospel etc. So we could touch all areas of the world’s day-to-day experiences and activities. The word Indispensables simply means something you can’t do without.
Q Tell us what your new release is all about both lyrically and musically, and is it representative of the De Indispensables sound?
Our new release is all about love. Musically it is an RnB song with some rap on it. It is a lovely slow jam you would want to listen to over and over, lyrically we are trying to talk a girl into a relationship and appreciating her beauty. Actually it is represents de indispensables sound, like i said we equally do RnB despite the fact that our sound is a fusion of all genres of music and the song is titled I Love U.
Q You’ve also got an album coming out – How have you gone about writing, recording and producing the songs and are there any featured artists or musicians on it?
Yes we’ve got an album coming out, though at the moment we are still working on it. It is not really easy but we are putting our best in writing and recording. Most of the songs we’ve got in the album is produced by Grafton Records based here in London and also recorded here in London. Yes we did feature a British artist known as Pyrelli in the remix of peace song number one on MTV Base Africa for some months, as well as Phoebe One a MOBO award winner and UK rapper and ChoiceFM DJ
Q Who are the people/artists who have influenced you and whom do you see as your contemporaries in today’s music scene?
Our role models in music are R. Kelly and Tupac Shakur and speaking of contemporaries in todays music, I think the biggest artist in every genre of music are our contemporaries.
Q The Urban music scene has grown over the last few years with many artists breaking into the mainstream. Is this good for the genre and where do you see yourself(s) in it all?
Actually urban music have made many artists break through into the mainstream and in our opinion, it is good for the genre because that is what is in vogue right now and we are putting our very best to produce good sound. For now we are still growing and we hope to get to the height of becoming mega stars in the nearest future.
Q Tell us a bit about your live performance – How does the show different from your recorded material? Will you be gigging the UK at any point soon?
Our live performance is quite different from our recorded material, because we put a lot of energy to please our fans, it is not like we change our lyrics or the sound but we try as much to make our performance look live and real. We will definitely be gigging the UK. On the 4th of
November miss tropical UK London will be entertained by De Indispensables and we will be releasing our new single (I Love U) on the 27th of November 2006.
Q What kind of impact do you want to have on the UK urban music scene?
The kind of impact we want on the UK urban music scene is appreciation. We will do our best to contribute positively to the UK urban music scene, we love it we love Grime and at the same time we want our fans to love and appreciate our sound too here in the UK.

What’s coming up for de indispensables in the future is quite expectant, hit albums, exclusive performance, awards and much more.
Q Lastly – If you could change one thing in the world – what would it be?
If I could change one thing in the world it will definitely be eradicating racism from the entire world so peace can reign forever.
