Jo-Ann Hamilton
Jo-Ann was born and raised in
St. Croix, Virgin Islands; she is of Kittitian, Nevision and Antiguan heritage. At age 18, she moved to the U.S.A where she studied Humanities and Liberal arts at Miami -Dade College and later obtained a B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Policy from the American University in Washington, D.C. In the U.K. she completed an MSc in Real Estate Investment from Cass Business School and an MSc in Management in Construction from Kingston University's College of Engineering.
She has worked in the real estate industry as an analyst, consultant and entrepreneur. Moreover, she has coordinated projects for international education, policy and humanitarian centres in the non-profit sector.
She is an arts enthusiast and passionate about a range of creative styles. She started dancing at a young age and has been trained in West African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Ballet techniques and has performed with dance ensembles in the Caribbean and U.S.A. She is currently working to use dance, writing and photography as a medium to promote, support and encourage African and African Diaspora visual and performing arts. She resides in London.
