Bristol's urban reggae heavyweights return with a new single taken from their long awaited, much anticipated, forthcoming debut album.
Bristol Love is the follow up to their massive underground anthem Red.
Laid Blak have been touring and releasing music for the best part of 4 years, building a loyal fan base of all colours, classes and ages. Their signature feel good vibe is evident in all their musical releases as well as their trademark live shows. The 7 piece band’s big break came when they were signed to Island Records founder Chris Blackwell's Brownpunk label, being hailed and championed by one of Reggae’s biggest supporters. Now set to release their first album, the band proudly present the lead single Bristol Love.
Bristol Love is an anthemic track which celebrates the diversity of Laid Blak's home City, whilst also highlighting the social struggles of inner city life that all people across the globe can relate to. The track is driven by subtle soulful synths blended seamlessly over a classic dub bassline, which builds into the smooth vocal harmonies of the infectious chorus.
To mark the singles release, the band took to the streets of the South West and invited the cameras to their most recent sold out shows to film a guerrilla music video. The promo clip was written and directed by Laid Blak vocalist Flex who is a keen filmmaker - when not centre stage in his trademark kilt!
As always to accompany any
Laid Blak release the band have a remix tucked up their sleeves and following on from their hugely successful Red Chasing Shadows remix, the band continue with a dubstep vibe. Though not as 'filthy' as the downright dirty Chasing Shadows remix, the Bunjy and Cappo Bristol Love remix is just as dancefloor and radio friendly.
