London's Women Entrepreneurs
According to the Women's Financial Network, women start businesses at two times the rate of men. However, whilst women start more businesses than men, they find it harder at the outset to grow their businesses and access venture capital.
The London Enterprise Office, the entrepreneurial arm of London Metropolitan University, acknowledges the importance of encouraging and supporting innovation and enterprise and are holding an exciting event to enable women entrepreneurs, the financial sector and venture capitalists to explore how this dynamic business sector can be better supported.
Speakers:
Bola Olabisi - Vice President of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs and CEO of the Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network (GWIIN) Ltd.
Yvonne Thompson - Managing Director of ASAP Communications Ltd.
Hilary Farnworth - Manger, Centre for Micro Enterprise, London Metropolitan University.
Our speakers will commence the evening with a panel discussion, which will then be opened up for questions. The event will close with a selection of canapés, refreshments and the opportunity to network with guests.
Date: Wednesday 28 May 2008
Time: 6:00 - 9:00pm
