Luton's hottest multicultural summer event. Luton Carnival, held in May during the
Spring Bank holiday each year, began in 1976, and has become hugely successful over the years. A number of different groups, clubs, schools, societies and communities get involved, bringing a diverse mix of arts, music and culture.
Luton town centre, with non-stop music from mid day until seven in the evening. There is entertainment around every corner, live musicians, sound systems and street entertainers all creating an exciting carnival atmosphere.
More than
2000 people join in this glittering carnival parade celebrating the spirit of carnival and the diversity of culture in Luton. The procession usually leaves Wardown Park around 1.30pm, to arrive in the town centre around 2.45pm.
Apart from the
carnival procession there are live music stages in the Town Centre and Wardown Park. There are sound systems playing all kinds of music to the Carnival goers throughout the town centre.
