Mangrove Mas Band

Mangrove Mas Band is a grassroots organisation with a 27 year track record of Carnival Arts; producing innovative and creative designs. The annual programme offers opportunity to design and produce costumes, to learn and use related skills and take part in Europe's biggest street festival as masqueraders. We are the only mas band that encompasses a float showcasing costumes, a steel band that partakes in the UK steel competition Panarama and a Static Sound system based in the heart of the carnival.

The Mangrove Mas committee has had a fresh dynamic introduced to it with the addition of life long members who have grown up within the Mangrove community. All committee members have had at least 15 - 20 years of experience within the carnival industry. With skills including, Design, Production, Promotion, Project Management and Marketing in house we are not only in touch with the culture and understanding of carnival but we are also in tune with the inner workings of corporate business.

What can we say, we've been held up in the barracks for nearly a month and cannot believe it's actually over!! Well only for another year anyway. LOL

As many of our renegades would have noticed, we listened to all the feedback (positive and negative) we received last season and made it our duty to make the necessary improvements in order to provide you with the best carnival experience we could. We called on the troops and you certainly all stood tall. And we can definately say our soldiers ATTACKED Ladbroke Grove with a vengeance. Without you we could never have made this possible.

Apologies to all those that didn't manage to get hold of a costume this year due to us selling out (TWICE) but we did warn you and we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that we managed to double the size of the band. Note that next year we are aiming to launch as early as possible so no one will have any excuses not to get their deposits down.

We hope that we will see all our revellers old and new back on the frontline for the 2009 season. Look out for future events and the launch of 2009's costume theme.

Also note that next year you will be able to pay deposits and down payments online on the official Mangrove website through the secure Paypal network. So for those of you that live out the area you can still purchase your costumes in time before they sell out.
