Marvia Providence, Gospel sensation who has been topping charts and performing to sell out concerts, takes Gospel music to new heights.

Caribbean London

Marvia Providence born and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica, has taken Gospel music to new heights. She has been singing and praising the Lord since the age of eight, and has now made it into the top ranks of the Gospel music scene worldwide.

While performing on stage in Jamaica, Marvia turned to evangelism, then enrolling in Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario, where she graduated in April 2002 with her bachelors in Biblical Studies. In November 2001 Marvia was licensed as an ordained Evangelist, and she has since performed around the world delivering the word of God. Marvia's ministry has taken her to several parts of the United States, and around the Caribbean.

Marvia's first recording was made in 1992 with the Toronto Mass Choir, performing as one of the soloists for their debut album "Great Is Thy Glory" leading to her first solo Album ‘Too Much To Gain To Lose’ in 1994.

Marvia's crossover popularity, is linked with the song ‘Hear My Cry Oh Lord’, which has been top choice for Dancehall selectors mixing it to the popular ‘Yuh Too Bad Mind’ rhythm, by Elephant Man. This is a potentially controversial mix, however it seems to be growing into a new style altogether.

Her musical styles, range from upbeat sounds of the Caribbean to the sounds of southern Gospel, and she has performed with Gospel greats Kirk Franklin, Junior Tucker, Carlene Davis and Stichie, among others. We can be sure Marvia Providence, with her new album 'Thank you' coming soon, will continue to grow in popularity and give us more of her dynamic gospel sound.
