Michael Rose
Living legend, Michael Rose, for a decade lead singer for
Grammy-winning Black Uhuru, has recorded his best new studio album in decades. Titled,
'Great Expectations' this recording brings Michael Rose's career to its highest plateau and features musicians from around the world. Sprinkled throughout the album are influences from Brazil, Africa, Jamaica, blended with the pop sensibilities of the UK.
The first release from the album, is the song
'Mama Africa' like a prayer, a chant, for the Darfur population, for Africa. Michael Rose with warm feeling exalts his attachment to his mother land, the song shows him off at his best, with his voice beautiful, and his message is clearly deep.
The music is seductive and hypnotic, lend some amazing percussions, drums, bass, guitar and keys, these instruments are alternately highlighted, released and dropped out "for a smooth, spine tingling effect", allowing his elastic voice to wrap around the song the way it should, in the
tradition of classic reggae dub.
Released, promoted and distributed by leading worldwide record company
oj36records based in Kingston Jamaica, active in the reggae business since 1996.

"Mama Africa" will be released by the end of March 2008,
