The Montreal International Reggae Festival 2015 Celebrates 12 years with Shabba Ranks Beres Hammond ~ Lady Saw and Cocoa Tea!

Montreal is buzzing with excitement as organizers of the 12th annual Montreal International Reggae Festival announce 4 artists who will help them celebrate their 12th anniversary!

Dancehall Icon and Emperor Shabba Ranks, Lover’s Rock Legend Beres Hammond, Dancehall Queen Lady Saw and Veteran Cocoa Tea have been confirmed as participants from Friday August 14th to Sunday August 16th, 2015 who will help the city of Montreal celebrate their love of good music.

Headlining the festivities on Friday August 14th is Beres Hammond. Best known for his smooth voice and hits like “I Feel Good,” “Tempted to Touch” and “Rockaway,” fans have requested his return after seeing him perform at the 2011 staging in which he had patrons dancing in the rain!

On Saturday August 15th, 2015, Shabba Ranks and Lady Saw bring Dancehall action to center stage. Both artists are seasoned veterans who have a career spanning more than 20 years; Shabba’s includes an arsenal of hits such as “Caan Dun,” “Gyal Yuh Good” and “Ting-a-Ling” while Lady Saw counters with “Man is The Least,” “Sycamore Tree” and “Heels On.” Dancehall night is going to be fire when these two Grammy Award winning artists take the stage!

True to MIRF tradition, Sunday (August 16th) is the day Reggae is celebrated. Headlining the fest is Cocoa Tea whose music is known by generations of fans who rate him as one of the best who performs in the genre. Hits like “Rikers Island,” “Good Life” and “Pirates Anthem” (performed with Shabba Ranks) have been mainstays on the radio and fan favorites!
