Nursery Carnival
Hundreds of children from across the capital are expected to gather at this year's
Notting Hill Nursery Carnival, on Monday 8th August 2011.
2011 will be the 30th year, and is expected to be a success despite the junior steel band competition having to be cancelled.
The
Nursery Carnival involves nurseries and playgroups from many boroughs in the capital and is organised by the
Children and Parents Carnival Association (CAPCA).
All the young people, who take part in the event, prepare all their own costumes, inspired by this year's theme 'Musical Mayhem' Part 1.
Notting Hill Nursery Carnival Organiser, Kim Woolford, said:
"Since its humble beginnings in a school, the Nursery Carnival has come a long way becoming a firm event in the carnival season. Just like the carnival, costumes, music and steel bands are all part of the show and it is a fantastic opportunity for young children to showcase their talent."
