Nubian Jak Board game
Pre- Kwanzaa Bonanza to Launch the 2008 Special
Windrush Edition of Nubian Jak Board game
As the
diamond anniversary of the Windrush draws to a close, one company is marking the season with the timely release of a new board game. Thirteen years, and 110,000 copies later after the first Nubian Jak game was launched in London and New York, the popular "people's game" is being launched at the Bernie Grant Centre in Haringey.
The Special Windrush Edition is the 5th in the game series and offers the most up to date account of black history in Britain from 1948 to the present.
Topics include: Art & Literature, The Armed Services, Stage & Screen, Government and Modern History, Science & Medicine, Sport, Knowledge & Trivia, and Music & Dance, and the game gives a comprehensive insight into modern Britain and the contributions by people of African Caribbean Heritage.
Still referred to as
'the diverse trivial pursuits', Nubian Jak can be played by up to 24 people, and is an exciting way of accessing information while trying to outwit members of your family, friends or peers. The
multi-award winning board game continues to attract a large cult following on both sides of the Atlantic, and is frequently used as part of an educational resource in schools throughout the UK.
Nubian Jak inventor, Jak Beula, has developed the brand into a series of products that includes book publishing, multi-media and a quiz/game show on Sky Channel 184. In the Summer of 2008 Jak was also featured the BBC children's program Beat The Boss!
To celebrate the Special Windrush edition's launch of the of the game, Jak has teamed up with David Simon author of the award winning book series
How To Unlock Your Child's Genius, and Michael Williams of
BIS Publications, responsible for the best selling Book series Black Scientist and Inventors. Both will be launching the latest title in their publishing catalogues on
December 19th between 4pm and 10pm.
This 'THREE WISE MEN PRE-KWANZAA BONANZA', will be an entertaining evening out for friends and families. Prizes will be on offer, with giveaways, refreshments, surprise guests, a Black Scientists and Inventors Exhibition, as well as... an
