One Love Peace Festival 2012 Line Up Announced: Diddy In A UK Festival Exclusive With Special Surprise Guests Rev Run (Run Dmc) Capleton - Bunny Wailer Luciano - Stylo G.
Sunday 15th July 2012 - Mabley Green, London
One Love Peace Festival, the UK's number one urban music festival, returns in spectacular fashion with the announcement of a stellar line-up across two massive stages that are set to transform East London’s Mabley Green into a musical extravaganza on Sunday 15th July 2012.
Hip-Hop powerhouse Diddy will headline the event on The Contemporary Stage, performing hits from an illustrious career in music that has spanned two decades and garnered four Grammy Awards. Special guests from renowned rap label Bad Boy will also join Diddy on stage.
With 2012 marking the 15th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G's untimely passing, as well as a year that would have seen the first star of Bad Boy celebrate his 40th birthday, Diddy, his mentor, will also be performing a special tribute to the late star as part of an extended set at the One Love Peace Festival.
The Heritage Stage reaffirms the event's well-preserved roots in reggae and will feature a celebration marking Jamaica's 50th year of Independence.
Headlining will be Bunny Wailer, hailed as one of the genres forefathers and an original member of legendary group The Wailers alongside Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. Joining him on the heritage line-up will be reggae heavyweights Capleton AKA 'The Fireman' and 'The Messanger' Luciano.
Clifton George Bailey III, AKA Capleton is one of Jamaica's most acclaimed dancehall artists. He's carried the flames of dancehall for over two decades and is still a favourite at festivals across the world.
Spreading a message which goes to the heart of the One Love Peace Festival's ethos, will be reggae's 'prophet' Luciano. With this enviable calibre of artists lined up to grace the Heritage Stage, One Love Peace Festival 2012 is set to go down in history.
Also on The Heritage Stage, rising reggae star I-Octane and the MOBO nominated Khago will be joined by one of the UK's leading dancehall artists, Stylo G.
Waving the British flag on The Contemporary Stage will be homegrown star Chip (Chipmunk) who was recently signed to US record label Grand Hustle, and has previously recorded tracks with Jamaican dancehall star Mavado.
With a legacy of over 20 years, the One Love Peace Festival acts as an annual reminder of the organisers' year-round efforts as they aim to unite revelers by promoting tolerance and reconciliation with community-led campaigns. This year the organisers will be launching The Peace Fund which will act as a long-term charitable trust, fuelling varied outreach activity including the development of youth centers, outlets of parental support and local mentoring schemes offering coaching, advice and support to the frontline in Broken Britain.
Event organiser Dexter Ricketts said: "We are honoured to be staging another One Love Peace Festival with what is our most eclectic and exciting line-up to date. For us the event is all about raising multi-cultural awareness and tolerance through the powerful medium of music. We hope that the One Love Peace Festival continues to inspire change and promote social harmony within the British community."
Other features on the day will include guest DJs, comedy corners, fairground rides and an international food village offering cuisines from each corner of the globe.
