Since the mid 1980's almost every singer to emerge from Jamaica and its musical diaspora has hailed Dennis Brown as an influence. Artists such as Sanchez, Frankie Paul, Richie Stephens, Janet Kay and even the deejay, Sweetie Irie all cite The Crown Prince as a major influence. As they in turn influence the next generation of artists, Dennis Brown's legacy lives on and on.
First coming to prominence as a child prodigy when he recorded two albums for Coxsone Dodd's now legendary Studio One label, Brown really came into his own when he teamed up with Winston Holness aka Niney "The Observer". With Niney he would find his true voice on songs like Westbound Train, Here I Come and Wolves and Leopard, tracks that would later see him given the title 'The Crown Prince' of Reggae.
Featuring 20 original recordings digitally remastered, this album includes a number of previously unreleased tracks.

Formed in the 1960s, the original Uniques became one of the most famous reggae harmony groups of the time. In the mid 1960s producer Niney The Observer assembled a new incarnation of the group 'The Uniques' for an album project pairing original member Jimmy Riley with former members, Cornel Campbell and Al Campbell. All experiencing flourishing solo careers at the time, the album sees all three artists demonstrate their own distinct styles on lead to the delight of their own individual fans. With this collective weight of individual Reggae icons, you could actually call this a super group version of a classic group.
Previously unreleased masterpieces produced by the Observer, this exclusive to Orange Street CD features 14 original recordings digitally remastered.
