To date
Pama International have released 5 acclaimed albums, recorded 2 Radio One Sessions & played triumphant sets at Womad, Glastonbury, Bestival, Beautiful Days & many more festivals.
They've performed alongside Jimmy Cliff, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, The Skatalites, Toots & The Maytals, Mad Professor, Mick Jones' Carbon/Silicon, Madness and Easy Star All-stars, creating a huge grassroots following, with a live show that has become second to none. 2006 saw them become the first new band in 30 years to sign to Trojan Records.
Getting back to their deep-rooted DIY philosophy
Pama International they launched their own
Rockers Revolt label. The
"Love Filled Dub Band" album was produced by John Collins (producer of The Specials iconic 'Ghost Town') and features guest appearances from Rico Rodriguez, Sir Horace Panter (The Specials) and Top 10 hit-maker Michie One. It also features Lynval Golding's first foray into song-writing since his days with The Specials & Fun Boy 3. The album draws on the classic sounds of yesteryear, blending Stax inspired soul with
Lee Perry's rockers reggae, King Tubby dub workouts with bang on the button social commentary.
The album
exceeded all expectations, with airplay from 54 (and counting) stations/DJs, including; Radio One; Rob Da Bank, Chris Goldfinger and Mike Davies, Radio 2-Steve Lamacq, David Rodigan, Gary Crowley, Charlie Gillet, BBC6; Don Letts and Breakfast Show w/ Shaun Keaveny, xfm-Jon Kennedy plus live sessions on Craig Charles' BBC6 Funk & Soul show, and at the legendary Abbey Road studios.
