Phoenix Carnival Costume Band design and make carnival costumes and run workshops in arts & crafts, dance and take part in many events: Reading, Birmingham, Altonal Hamburg Germany and Notting-hill Carnival.

2009 will be the 20th Year Phoenix Carnival Costume band has taken part in Notting-hill Carnival.

The Theme for 2009 is Indians of the Plains a tribute to the late Lawrence Noel, former bandleader of Trinbago Mas Band. Carnivalists knew Lawrence as the Father of Indian costume design. His Mas Band was the first to launch at the London Notting Hill Carnival. Sadly, Lawrence passed away on 23rd December 2008. He had been a champion mas marker in the UK for over 40 years with his innovative costume designs on Native American Indians and the artistic quality of many different tribes.

Some of our Costumes Design for this years, our workshops started in Tenants Hall, Edmundsbury Estate. Ferndale Road SW9 8AY. on Friday 26th June 09, then onwards Monday - Saturday 6 pm to 10 pm each day, See Drawing below Come along and see pre-made costume and choose your Design for 2009.

Members in Indian Costumes over the Past Years-Calling Past Members who have Indian Costume come and join us if your Costume can be repair, pay a Band Fee and Join Us at Notting-hill Carnival 2009.
