Feb-2011 I searched for an afro hairdresser all over Ireland,but couldnt find a professional, so I went online and found Rougz, i tell you it was the best find, I contacted Marcia when i had my baby in 2009 and she advised to keep my braided till the baby was old enough as I needed a short hair cut, she was considering the maintenance toppled with baby care. I took her advice, now my baby is a year plus and I called Marcia in Dec 2010 about getting my hair done. We had a couple of discussion and I wanted to make sure my journey all the way from the Republic of Ireland will not be in vain, so Jan 2011, summoned up courage, booked my flight, called marcia and she gave me an appt for 21st Jan. WHAO!!!! she gave me the best hair I have ever had.....Absolutely beaitiful. Back to Ireland and my Hubby cant keep his eyes off me talk less of his hands ....LOL!! Marcia!!!! Mwah!!! I have been losing my hair for years and after months of research decided it was time to do something about my thinning hair. I found this website, read the reviews and called Marcia. She made me feel confident and relaxed about the decision I was about to make to have a weave. Marcia fitted my weave last week, my God it is fantastic. So many people ,even those I have known for years have said they think my new hair style is great and I should wear my hair out more often. My weave looks so natural, and the cut has Marcia has given me a fantastic cut so only I know it's a weave . I don't even need to worry about looking after it because Marcia kindly bought me all the bits I'd need to keep it groomed and I can return to the salon to have it washed before it needs replacing again. Marcia, you are wonderful and you don't know how much you've changed my life- Thanks-you!!!. A very happy client from London

I was researching on the internet for a hairdresser and discovered Rougz hair. After reading all the reviews, I took the plunge and contacted Marcia for a consultation. I travelled from South London to her salon with my "Bakers Boy" hat placed firmly on my head over my old tired weave. She made me feel welcome, gave me magazines to look at and a consultation recommending which colours for a weave would suit my complexion. After such professionalism, I opted there and then to make an appointment to have it done and to banish my tired weave and hat forever. My appointment day arrived (Wednesday 25th November 2009), I was apprehensive to say the least, however, it was the best decision I made, Marcia had chosen the right colours and was so professional throughout. I had my old weave removed and banished, a wash, treatment and the weave done. Once cut and styled it looked amazing. My family and friends said the colours and style took years off me. As I had a late appointment, I left the salon late and Marcia was kind enough to contact me when she thought that I had reached home. Not many (if any) hairdressers that I have previously encountered would offer such a personal touch. Oct-09 Having looking for a hairdresser with a difference I discovered rougz hair from the internet. I was eager to find out what they have to offer or whether it was just a hype! So I travelled all the way from Bristol to get my hair done and I was so happy with the service and hospitality I received not to mention The outcome of my hair, since then I have been travelling to London to get my hair done by Marcia at Rougz, its quite time consuming for me but well worth a day off each time. Jul-09 I first heard about Rougz and Marcia online when I was looking for a good hair salon where I could get a weave. I had never had a weave before and was very nervous about it as you see people with really bad weaves and you don't want yours to look like that. But I decided to go for it as my hair needed a break from chemicals and I needed a change. I thought if I looked online I could see other peoples views on where the best places to go are. I saw the great reviews about Marcia and decided to visit the salon. I travelled all the way to Finchley Road (I live in south London) to see what the salon was like and if I liked it to make an appointment. When I got there Marcia was very friendly. She asked me what I wanted and gave me some magazines so I could pick what kind of style I wanted. She also offered suggestions on what she thought might suit me. As she was so helpful and professional I decided to make an appointment. On the day of my appointment I arrived and was treated amazingly. I had a wash, a treatment and had my weave done. The whole time Marcia was very friendly and talkative but always professional too. Once my hair was done it was amazing. Marcia had suggested I get some colour put in which I was sceptical about but agreed as I knew she knew what she was talking about. She was right. My hair looked so natural and every one who saw it after was amazed and commented on how different I looked (in a good way). I have since gone back to Rougz and again loved the results. I will continue to go there, as when I leave I feel confident that my hair looks great. Trisha W

Mar-09 I recently cut my locs off and wanted to have a few wigs made until my own hair grew back.. A friend of mine recommended Marcia and I was not disappointed. Marcia took her time and made two fantastic wigs, by the way they are very realistic. I will most definitely return to this salon. Christine

Mar-09 I first visited Marcia's Salon about a month ago to take out a couple of tracks and to relax my hair.. I found the service really good as Marcia she makes you fell comfortable by talking to you freely and nicely. She is vary fast, effective and precise in what she does, she will try to do her best to make you have the look that you wanted. Before her treatment my hair was very dry, but after the relaxer and the treatment under the steam, my hair had a completely different texture, usually my hair after I have relaxed it is a bit dry, but because Marcia knows what she is doing and how to do it, my hair came out great.. she then added some lines with bonding, I had 4 different rows with 4 different colours of extension but the end result, was like if I done just some highlight, the mixture of colours was great everyone was impressed by my hair and no one could realise that I had extensions in my hair it looked absolutely natural. I returned to the salon this weekend because I wrongly tried to take out the bonding by my self, with a result of having my hair full of glue(she did advise me not to do that), after few washes and the treatment my hair was glue free luckily, she advised me just to set my hair without doing nothing to it.. as I have short hair and a round face I was a bit worried on how I could look at the end, but when she is talking to you, you can see that is a professional talk so you trust her.. and my end result was fantastic, I love the way I look now and everybody is making me compliments on my look as well giving me more confidence.. Jun-08 I found Rougz hair salon a delight I attended the salon in May. The location is great just on the Finchley High Road. Marcia Paid great attention to my requirements, and provided a great intimate service that isn't very popular in London in these present times. I would reccomend Rougz hair if you want a great service in a non prententious environment. I left the salon feeling fabulous my weave has lasted 3 months and it still looks fresh. My hair was chosen by Marcia she assesed my tones and based the hair choice on my frame and personality and it was spot on! The hair clock is a great feature of Marcia's work and you will find great displays of her work all around the salon which was a delight to view whilst getting a great service. Apr-08 I live in Stockholm Sweden and got totally fed up with the lack of GREAT Afro hair care. I am originally from Los Angeles California so I know what GREAT hair looks like. After searching high and low on the internet and anywhere else I could think of, I settled on coming to London to give it a shot. I settled on Rougz based on the positive reviews I had read and a phone consult I had with Marcia. You see, I had had my weave in (done in LA) since November and knew I had to do something soon. I felt very comfortable with her knowledge and professionalism even on the phone.

I flew in for my appointment (thanks Ryan Air) and embarked upon my journey. The salon was in a great location for me since I have friends in Islington. For a foreigner like myself, it was essential to be able to get there by Tube or Bus. Marcia was gracious, fun and all that I thought she would be. She took out my shameful 'weave' and then the real work began. I was treated to a wonderful shampoo and condition along with a steam treatment. Ruby combed me out which as you can imagine took forever since my hair was quite matted. Instead of yanking out the knots, they painstakingly detangled my worked do. Next Ruby braided me down and put on the weave with hair that I had brought. She was wonderful and a true artist. Next came the styling which Marcia cut, trimmed, smoothed and perfected into a wicked creation. I hadn't felt that cute in months;)

Marcia and Ruby were fabulous and this was a top notch experience. I can honestly say that even though I live in Scandinavia, my wonderful styling duo reside in London. I'll be back!

Apr-08 I felt good about myself when i walked out of Rougz.. If you are like me have been looking for a decent BLACK SALON that can deal with all situations of black hair, because this hair has been bad. .. then you need Rougz. You get to meet the award winner who is the owner Marcia.. and get a complete friendly, positive, honesty, reassuring confident, most friendly and curtious analysis of your hair. (she talks you through this) Anchoice .. .......Environment is great.. thought the shower idea is great .. will be definetely using once open. Going there again definetly makes you feel better. Feb-08 Today I went to get my hair professionally relaxed and coloured at Rougz hairdressers and i was not disappointed. Marcia Johnson the owner did a wonderful job on my hair. My hair had body, life and movement. My family could not stop complimenting me when I got home.

For anyone seeking a hairdresser who knows about hair, is confident and competent in what she does then they should seek out Rougz Hair as they will not be disappointed. This is one talented woman.I have recommended the Salon to all my friends and colleagues.

Dec 07 I would like to thank award winning hairdresser Marcia Johnson (Rougz Hair & Beauty) for the fantastic service I received on which I can say is one of the best Friday's I've experienced. I felt welcomed as soon as I stepped into the vibrant, classy (without intimidation) unique salon; Marcia made me feel comfortable and was patient while she used her expertise to help me achieve my look and answered all my questions with enthusiasm and wisdom.

I initially came in for a re-touch but left with the most naturalist looking weave-on I've ever seen in my life, even my mum couldn't tell until I told her! There was so sign of dodgy workmanship i.e. glue, tracks visible, and there was no bulkiness whatsoever and on top of that my hair can breathe! I can't even feel the tracks when I stroke my hair.

I've had scores of people complementing me and asking who my hairdresser is which no-one had asked when I went to my previous hairdressers. One friend said she could tell I paid proper money to achieve my style. In the past I've paid little money at the hairdressers and came out with the most obvious, dodgy looking weave which defies the point of a weave. Marcia hit the nail on the head when she said 'only you should know you're wearing weave' and she was right; as soon as got on the tube I noticed all these really bad weaves and remembered that I was one of them. No doubt, I'm going back again because I've never felt this good in a long time.
