Sylbourne was among 21 new recruits from the diverse British minority ethnic community, who was enlisted last year as a Parliamentary Ambassador by Operation Black Vote (OBV) in conjunction with the British Electoral Commission.

Under the programme, Sylbourne is shadowed two Members of Parliament in Britain during 2006-2007, as he seeks to integrate himself directly with the duties and responsibilities of political representatives in the United Kingdom. The scheme completed in March this year where Sylbourne and colleagues had a graduation ceremony at the House of Commons.
Born in St. Ann, Jamaica and grew up in Ocho Rios, Sylbourne is seeking to advance the cause of the underclass and promote greater understanding and influence in the development of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in the British political system.
He believes that by being a registered voter the ethnic community will be better able to enhance its core values, ideologies and shaping of the overall socio-economic infrastructure of Britain.
He has sought to maximise his political ambition, having taken active duties in the Jamaica Diaspora Community. Sylbourne in 2003 founded Facilitators for a Better Jamaica (FFBJ) – a not for profit registered think tank lobby group that aims to speak up on Jamaican issues at national and international levels as well as being the former General Secretary of the Peoples National Party (PNP) UK Chapter.
Mr Sydial is a recent recipient of the "Silver Pen Award" from the Gleaner Company. He is a regular political columnist to the "Big Eye" (Newspaper the Fastest Growing UK Black Newspaper) and still a regular writer to the Jamaican Observer and Gleaner where he has still taken the centre spot in getting letter of the day with the recent one "Stop murdering our little angels"
Mr. Sylbourne Sydial is a prominent member of various community groups and organizations in South London since his arrival in Britain in 1992. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from Thames Valley University. He is married to Shelly-Ann Sydial a Programme Co-coordinator who works in the city of London.
Sylbourne is currently a Conservative party member of the Dulwich and West Norwood constituency and Lewisham East Constituency and a member of the Society of Conservative Lawyers. It is Sylbourne desire to be the first Jamaican born British MP and if not the first he will support the first and then become the second.
With his Excellent leadership and communication skills Sylbourne is a regular speaker and lecturer in political and community outreach.
His philosophy of life is, 'Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy,' Proverbs 31 v 8-9.
In his spare time, Mr. Sydial enjoys writing, reading and listening to music and is a very active church member in Kensington Temple.
