TALENT 2008 – The Biggest Student Talent Showcase In The UK
It's that time of year again.
Talent 2008, the largest intercity student showcase in the UK, is taking place on the
6th of June 2008 at the prestigious Alexander Theatre in Birmingham. What initially began as a platform for talented university students has vastly evolved into a performing arts and fashion extravaganza for students across the UK. Talent 2008 is the 4th annual talent event established by Aspire 4 U - founded by former media students of Birmingham City University.
The event has become a fantastic opportunity for
student talent to get noticed with industry professionals making up the judging panel. This year's panel so far includes Jonathan Shalit (manager of popstar Jamelia), Sola Oyebade managing director of top London model agency, Mahogany models, Sacha Brookes of Galaxy fm and Darae Palmer of MTV Base lounge.
Daniella Genas, head event coordinator of
Aspire4u said; "When we initially began doing Talent, we never thought it would be so popular. We eventually aim for it to become a national event with artists going on to break into the industry".
What is specifically unique about Talent 2008 is that it encourages college students and young people to attend university by providing them with an opportunity to network with positive role models and gain first hand experience of university life.
The event is currently being sponsored by the UK's leading music retailer HMV but this is an excellent opportunity for businesses to reach a large proportion of students.
Aspire4u are therefore offering sponsorship opportunities to local and national organisations.
The
Talent 2008 auditions are going to be taking place at universities and colleges across the midlands and the north of England during
April. So if you are a singer, dancer, rapper, poet, model, designer who is enrolled on a university or college course, this is your opportunity to be part of something huge.
If the spotlight is not for you, there are also great opportunities for students to become part of the
Aspire street team and gain event management, marketing and pr experience. Being part of the organisation means you will get exclusive entry to events, freebies as well as having a glowing reference for your C.V. It all fits around university commitments so is a fantastic way for students to meet new people and learn new skills.
