Get set to share in the exhilarating thrill of the Olympic journey this summer, as an exciting new musical production hits stages across London and the South East.
Beyond Gold blends a spectacular mix of dance, drama and gospel music to tell the true and inspiring stories of some of the world’s greatest athletes including Marion Jones, Derek Redmond and Eric Liddle.
This original piece of theatre is a celebration of the spirit of the games featuring a talented cast of singers, dancers and actors. The production is written and directed by Mervyn Weir (Fired Up, Pure Voice) with the music arranged by Celia Wickham-Anderson (appeared with, Ray Charles, Winston Marsalis, Jules Holland) and Jason Thompson (played for, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sir Cliff Richard, Icognito).
The play engages the audience with stories of faith and determination as well as the successes and failures that provide the backdrop to the epic quest for Olympic glory that brings participants so much more than a medal.
Beyond Gold explores the personal, intriguing stories of Olympians and captures their exhilarating, and often painful, journey towards Olympic victory. Be uplifted, challenged and inspired at this unmissable, once in a lifetime experience!
