Hew Locke Beyond the Sea Wall A Solo Show
This elegiac show comprises new and recent works across various media such as sculpture, paint, photographs, found objects and share certificates. Locke connects ideas of past with present; good fortune with bad fortune; and childhood memories with recent experiences in Guyana.
Last year Locke’s installation For Those in Peril on the Sea was a highlight of the launch of the Peréz Art Museum Miami during the Basel Art Fair, and he has just presented his first performance piece, Give and Take in the Tate Modern Turbine Hall. Forthcoming projects include taking part in Prospect 3. International Biennial, and also En Mas’: Carnival and Performance Art of the Caribbean, both in New Orleans.
