Streets Paved with Gold at Rosemary Branch Theatre 2016

Rosemary Branch Theatre Streets Paved with Gold

V Jay Theatre Productions in conjunction with Rosemary Branch Theatre present Streets Paved with Gold this May

Come one come all to see one of the best legendary family Windrush plays ever on tour at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in London for the May Bank holiday weekend!

Written and performed by Victor Richards

Augustus Cleveland Johnson disembarks at Tilbury Docks on a cold, grey, wet November morning in 1948 hoping to make his fortune in a foreign land. Share his hopes, his dreams and aspirations as he struggles to make his way in post war Britain, and transplant his rich Carribbean culture and roots into a not always hospitable environment.

Victor Richard’s wonderfully evocative and informative one hour play was created for Black History Month. It will be followed by a performance of Windrush poetry guaranteed to tug heartstrings you never knew you had.
