Malcolm Frederick and Friends

Carib Theatre Company and Friends of Malcolm Frederick Presents – Sweet Music and Some Jokes

Many of you will remember him playing the role of Beastie in the 1980’s British Black Sitcom ‘NO PROBLEM’ along with a 30 year long list of theatre, film and TV credits to his name.

Malcolm is suffering from a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma which is an aggressive form of the cancer.

The only ‘cure’ is a bone marrow transplant.

His siblings have been checked but unfortunately there isn’t a match there, so we now have to look on the register.

The good news is that he is in remission at the moment but we have no knowledge of how long this will last. The best time to do the bone marrow operation is ideally whilst he is in remission as he should be better able to deal with the side effects etc of this operation. So he really needs the transplant as soon as possible.

The reality is that we Caribbean’s have a very unique genetic make up that is a result of slavery and the other influences in our history, so it is imperative that as many of us as possible sign up for the bone marrow register.

The African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, is dedicated to encouraging as many people as possible to register as potential life saving donors. You can find more information about the register at www.aclt.co.uk

All proceeds from this concert will be divided between The African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and Malcolm Frederick.

This concert is possible through the generous support of the High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago.
