Simmer Down Festival 2014 Headline Acts Unveiled
Simmer Down CIC, The Drum and Perry Barr Constituency Arts Forum are delighted to exclusively announce the headline acts for the fastest growing and totally free family fun festival Simmer Down, which will return to Handsworth Park on Sun 20 Jul.
Simmer Down Festival is delighted to confirm our headline acts for summer 2014 are Handsworth home-grown global super stars, with the Grammy Award winning international Reggae Legends Steel Pulse, master of Ragga Fusion Apache Indian, backed by the sensational Reggae Revolution and chart-topping Birmingham Reggae band Musical Youth! Plus many more special guests, performers, artists, musicians and bands are still to be announced. So make sure you’ve got the date in your diary!
There’s always something for everyone to do on the day, with a huge range of free live performances and arts activities taking place across several stages and marquees, including arts and education workshops, face paintings, small rides, a community cricket match, as well as a belly-busting variety of food stalls!
Firmly rooted in the community, Simmer Down is a totally free family fun-day festival which celebrates Birmingham’s rich cultural diversity, from its music and food to arts and crafts. It’s the fastest growing and most diverse festival in Birmingham, last year attracting over 12,000 people to the beautiful surroundings of Handsworth Park.
Now into its fifth year and firmly established as part of the city’s festival calendar, this year’s festival looks to be better than ever. so make sure you don’t miss the biggest and best free party of the year!
