Women of Steel is the sensational steel ensemble from the UK. This group is an all female collective of steel pan soloist.
Each member of the group contributes arrangements and compositions to their repertoire. The combination of abilities allow this unique group to give performances like no other steel pan ensemble. Each woman specialising in a specific genre of music.
The group is designed to be a platform for female arrangers & performers to showcase their ability.

Manager Debra ‘Pan Diva’ Romain – Steelpan Vocalist & Director of Cambridge University Steel pan society.
Earlier this year Debra was commissioned as pannist in residence for T&T 50 Cultural Village at The Tricycle theatre. This was by request of The Trinidad & Tobago High Commission in London. This prestigious month of events, featured high profile artist like Machel Montano, 3 Canal, Paul Keens Douglas, Ella Andal and many more. Debra gave a double bill concert called Women of Steel and Invited female pannist to have a spotlight moment.
Pan Diva-Known to many music lovers as the ‘PanDiva’ for her soulful vocals on steel. Now Debra adds her operatic vocal ability to classical arrangements on pan.
Carlene ‘Sweet Wrist’ Etienne known for her ability to solo on Double Tenor. This Steel pan Vocalist delivers both stunning, seductive Jazz vocals and sweet soca.
Delphina ‘Panness’ James – Arranger, Teacher,solo performer. Delphina has a degree in music and has been a in house arranger in Ebony Steel band for many years. On Double seconds is an exceptional soloist.
Navina ‘Goddess’ Nalamuthu – Arranger, teacher and solo Performer. Navina is also a classically trained musician. She plays at least 3 other instruments at professional level. Her elegant playing style and goddess- like persona makes Navina a joy to watch.
Vanya ‘Pan Lady’ Reid soloist and composer offers original works in jazz funk and calypso. Vanya is an accomplished jazz musician also a solo pianist. She plays with several of Trinidad s steel bands for panorama every year.
As a collective Women of Steel is a celebration of sisterhood.
