Indeed, the format of the show, now eight years old, with its wide variety of categories and mentoring workshops has proved so successful that other shows have been quick to follow suit by adding their own support boot camp; categories such as vocal groups, allowing for singers over the age of 25, as well as even creating a separate show for specialist acts such as magicians, instrumentalists and ventriloquists.
The competition's presence continues to prove its worth as a fantastic stepping stone for talented individuals and groups serious about becoming the next big thing. With its reputation of offering the first chance to see diamonds in the rough, an ever increasing number of record industry reps are found sniffing around.
Previous successful entrants who have cut their teeth in the competition and honed their skills before proving to the wider world that they have the X - Factor or becoming chart topping performers include:

Previous judges and guest performers at the UK UNSIGNED Grand Finals, ATL (US protégé boy band of R Kelly) have said that the UK UNSIGNED Finals felt "like the famous amateur night at the Apollo [New York]...people coming form all over the country to a platform where stars are born."
