Getting Married in the BVI
British Virgin Islands are a longtime favourite destination for couples getting married.
Sunset weddings, beach weddings, in the church or on a boat, whatever your choice, there are

The information below is a basic guide to what you need and who to contact for getting married in BVI.
BVI Marriage License Laws 
No waiting period or minimum length of stay is required. Application for a marriage license must be made in person by both parties at the office of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A Roman Catholic wedding on Barbados has additional requirements

If you are staying at a resort, consult with the manager to help you make arrangements to secure your marriage license

Both parties must have a return ticket
Identification required for BVI Marriage License

Proof of citizenship from resident country is required such as valid passport or birth certificate and photo driver’s license

If either party has been divorced, the original divorce decree or a certified copy must be presented.

All documents must be in English, if not, they must be translated and notarized
