Wretch 32

BBC 1XTRA's 'Most Street Heat' award winning artist Wretch 32 claimed his station in the UK underground scene following the 2006 release of 'Learn From My Mixtape'. Virtually unknown outside his own North London quarters until that point, this release secured Wretch 32's rise to the pinnacle of the underground UK music industry.

Following such acclaim, rather than sit back and rest on his laurels Wretch used the success gathered from 'LFMM' as a platform participating in a number of highly regarded guest spots and collabo’s.

His impressive work rate failed to go unnoticed with a certain Mr Skinner inviting him to appear on the huge The Streets rmx of 'Pranging Out'. Leading on from that he was asked to play a key role in MTV Base's celebration of Black History Month in 2006. Such exposure thrust him even further into the spot light and it wasn't long after that he became the face of up and coming clothing label King Apparel.

All this has helped Wretch to establish an ever growing fan base not only within the UK but also in Europe, resulting in bookings in Amsterdam, Berlin, Gothenburg, Barcelona and more recently a trip to Czech Republic to perform at the huge Hip Hop Kemp festival with his team THE M.O.V.E.M.E.N.T (Ghetto & Scorcher) along side such names as M.O.P and the mighty Redman!!

But besides all the hype people wanted to hear more from this ever emerging young talent. Not one to disappoint he soon dropped the firing 'Teachers Training Day' which gained a huge amount of support from all the key players at radio, press and the industry alike.

Which brings us up to date as Wretch continues his role as edutainer dropping his first official single 'Punctuation' and oh my it's a big one!! From the first few string soaked bars you can definitely sense the epic proportion of the track. All that's needed is an MC to match; seconds later Wretch appears to deliver one of the strongest and most original verses your likely to hear for some time to come. Class is well and truly in session as Wretch takes his competition to school!!

Just when you though you heard the bell go, signaling the end of lesson in steps Scorcher, Shameless and man of the moment Bashy, to continue where the original left off. All three step their game up and take charge of the track leaving Wretch to round things up at the end.

Wretch is working on his highly anticipated debut album 'Wretrospective' which is due out early 2008.
