About Huddersfield Carnival

Huddersfield Carnival takes place every year in July and is one of the largest outdoor festivals in West Yorkshire attracting increasing numbers of revellers from around the UK.

For over 30 years the event has been drawing inspiration from the Caribbean, and provided a medium through which local communities can develop and display their talents in costume design, music, dance and drama. After Notting Hill and Leeds Carnival, Huddersfield has grown to one of the largest Caribbean carnivals in the country.

The parade starts off at the Hudawi Culture Centre at 1pm winding through the town centre, with live performances on the main stage at St Georges Square. Spectators can enjoy an array of Caribbean food, live music and steel pan bands throughout the day.

Carnival highlights each year include the Friday Night Glow Parade, Carnival Parade and various workshops leading up to carnival weekend.
