Being Afro Caribbean Campaign

Get involved in the Being Afro Caribbean Campaign

Anthony Nolan and the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) have partnered together to launch a campaign on what #BeingAfricanCaribbean means. We want to celebrate what being African Caribbean means – as well as showing why we desperately need more young people to join the Anthony Nolan register.

If you are African Caribbean and have blood cancer you have less than a 20% chance of finding a perfect match and Anthony Nolan and ACLT want to change the odds.

The Campaign aims to recruit young 16-30 African Caribbeans to the donor (stem cell and bone marrow) register. We also need those over 30 to support and raise awareness to their communities on these low statistics and encourage young people to join.

#BeingAfricanCaribbean has been supported by celebrities Richard Blackwood, Trevor Nelson and Wretch32 in the celebrity video

The campaign has been well received with TV and radio coverage, including a powerful interview with Hollywood actor David Harewood on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, as well as London Live & BBC London.
