On 14th February 2006 Lynden David Hall passed away having lost his 2 year battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Rest in Peace Lynden David Hall
The tragic loss of the talented young soul singer and songwriter, was felt by fans and the music industry alike. For a man to have left his mark with love songs, it is all the more poignant that he should have passed on Valentines Day.
The sexy, quiet, singer with his passionate lyrics and smooth rhythms, was such a refreshing change to the brash, aggressive attitudes of other male musicians of the day. He represented charm, smouldering moments, manners and a soft gentle style that left women of all ages weak at the knees. Women up and down the country will forever remember the classic ‘Sexy Cinderella’, which came out on his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Medicine 4 My Pain’.
He went on to win Best Newcomer at the 1999 Mobo’s and Best British Male at the Brits. He continually made music bringing out his second album in 2000, ‘The Other Side’, as well as branching out, appearing as the wedding singer in the British hit comedy ‘Love Actually’ in 2003.
However that same year, he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, but continued to focus on his music throughout. His third album ‘In Between Jobs’, made during his illness on Random Records, has sadly received only moderate success.
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma disease, a rare form of cancer he had been battling for over 2 years. It is a form of cancer that mainly affects young people in their 20’s and around 1400 people are diagnosed in then UK every year. It is a disease of the Lymphatic system.
