Hipsters Don’t Dance are back at The Shacklewell Arms
You can find us in the back room recreating the feeling of Carnival in the middle of Dalston. On the night we will have residents Murlo and Illanja alongside HDD head honchos and party starters Kazabon & Hootie Who.
Murlo has had a busy month; April has seen this guy take over the BBC, with his Xtra talent shows as part of DJ Cameo’s show, and a Light’s On guest mix for Monki’s BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show.
Illanja, the understated but incredibly versatile veteran dj of the Irish scene and is someone whose tastes are impecable. We missed having him at the Shacklewell last month and are glad to have him back with us this month.
After the success of Kazabon & Hootie Who’s incredibly popular Afropop mix for Mixpak FM the DJs behind the World Carnival sound are back for another set of Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afrobeats and Soca. So whether you want to dance Azonto, Atigi, Moggela, Whine and/or Kotch, don’t miss out on their set.
We will not be having a monthly event in June due to a Field Day takeover at the venue so join us on Saturday and party hard enough for two months! Fete hard or go home!!!
